RAD SKILLS & RIDES For Women & gender diverse adults
Term 3:
NIGHT OWLS -
SKILLS SESSIONS
Dates: Mondays in Term 3, 2026
27th July to 31st August (6 sessions)
Time: 6:30pm to 8:00pm - night lights needed
Where: Gravel Roads & Single trails at Walmer State Forest on Djaara Country
Who: For women & gender diverse adults who can confidently ride on green and blue rated single trail with rocky features and undulating terrain. Suitable for those wanting to try out Riding at Night but not sure where to start.
What: A MTB Skills Session at Night. Get confident using lights while also learning about skills in a supportive group. This is a low pressure, slow and considered process to support any nerves that might come from riding in the dark. Night time is a wonderful time to be in the bush. Having a light shining the way, highlights nature connection and also supports the development of trail awareness and the field of vision, which is essential for riding off road.
Cost: $240.00 for 6 sessions
Bike specific night lights are needed. Available through our shop. Night lights available to borrow for the first session thanks to KWT Imports providing their Demo Fleet of Magic Shine Lights.
Clothing suitable for cold & and wet weather is also required. A little bit of rain and we can ride, more than a couple of ml’s or high winds and gusts and the ride is rescheduled.
What:
MTB skills instruction in a progressive format. Think of it as learning to become a ninja - but on a bike. As your skills progress, unlock the next level of progression.
Focus is on confidence, fun and social connection on a bike in a low pressure environment.
Content may include:
Body Position - using stability and balance for more confidence, flow and safety on descents, ascents and corners
Operating controls - using brakes to slow down and stop with control; using gears for smoother pedaling and energy efficiency
